Pane is a desktop workspace where notes, tasks, and a project-aware AI live together. Your data stays on your machine. You bring your own keys.

Markdown-native pages with kanban built in. Write a note; it can also be a task. No second app to keep in sync.
A persistent chat panel that reads the project you're in. Ask anything; pin notes to ground every conversation.
Bring an OpenRouter, Anthropic, or Ollama key. Pane runs locally — your notes never leave your computer.
Reed reviews. Brit ships. Stia plans. Name the agent, route it to a provider, give it a brief — and let it work.
Single accent color. No notifications, no cards stacked five-deep. Built for the kind of focus you need to ship.
Open Pane on a plane. The notes, the editor, and any local model still work. Cloud AI is opt-in, not load-bearing.

Pane fuses notes, tasks, and a project-aware AI rail into one desktop app. Notion has notes and databases but no local-first AI. Obsidian is local-first but plugin-heavy. Pane ships the integration as the product.
On your computer. Notes are local files. AI requests go directly from your machine to whichever provider key you supplied. We don't proxy your prompts and we don't store your notes.
To use the AI rail, yes — bring your own OpenRouter, Anthropic, or Ollama (local) setup. Notes and tasks work without a key.
Pane supports macOS and 64-bit Linux, with .deb and .rpm packages. Windows is not currently supported.
No free trial in v1. You can cancel any time from the Stripe customer portal — no questions asked.
